Ethics for Health Professionals

In this talk, Tammy Copeland will be highlighting some of the many ethical considerations that one should be aware of when undertaking an assessment as a health professional.
Topics such as the value of an assessment process, scope of practice and consent will be explored. This talk is not designed to address specific ethical dilemmas but rather to provide an overview.

Tammy Copeland completed her Masters in Educational Psychology at the University of the Witwatersrand.
She then began a private practice focusing on both assessments as well as individual therapy with parents and children. During this time she also consulted at Crossroads School where she was part of the multi disciplinary assessment team.
In 2008 Tammy began working at Bellavista School initially in the assessment unit, and then within the school. Currently Tammy sees individual clients for play therapy, supportive individual therapy and parental counselling. She also is involved in the assessment unit (S.E.E.K.) where she supervises cases, reviews reports and conducts psychological and emotional assessments.
