Using the WISC-V to Inform Intervention
This talk will provide an overview of Wechsler’s Intelligence Scale for Children. We will briefly consider why we use standardised intelligence tests such as the WISC-V and how it can be one useful tool we use to better understand a child. We will then discuss the structure of the test and the individual indices and subtests.

Speaker:
Daniela Allan is a Remedial Therapist and the Director of Academics at Bellavista School. She also assesses children struggling in the mainstream environment, at Bellavista S.E.E.K, to determine if placement in a remedial environment is necessary. Her passion lies in understanding the cognitive profile of child in order to assist on the academic side.
Debbie Catto is both a supervising and assessing psychologist for Bellavista S.E.E.K. She is also an Educational Psychologist in private practice with experience in assessment, play therapy and literacy support to children identified as having dyslexia.
