Award in Literacy and Dyslexia
The Award in Literacy and Dyslexia is a part-time course that can be taken over 18 months to two years, currently through distance learning. It consists of three modules. Delegates have the option to sign up per module (and exit at the end of any module) or for the full course.
The course is aimed at teachers, therapists, psychologists, and school leaders. Module One kicks off with a deep understanding of how reading develops, the concept of dyslexia, causal factors and how to establish dyslexia friendly teaching methods and strategies. In Module Two, participants will be exposed to screening tools, report writing and participate in the assessment of a learner under the supervision and support of a tutor. Module Three will focus on evidence-based intervention methods with school-aged learners who have reading difficulties or are at risk of dyslexia and complete 20 hours of supervised intervention with a learner.
We look forward to welcoming you on the course.
