Neurodevelopmental disorders are a group of conditions with onset in the developmental period. These differences are characterised by impairments of personal, social, academic, or occupational functioning, and it is clear that we can no longer view these difficulties in isolation, but rather as part of a larger group of symptoms and difficulties. This talk will explore various common neurodevelopmental disorders, how they present and how they co-occur with other difficulties. Emphasis is placed on the unique profile of each child with neurodevelopmental difficulties and general strategies to help these learners in the classroom will be shared.
