The adolescent brain works and responds to the world differently from the brain of a child or the adult. There are significant differences in brain from the perspective of functioning, wiring and capacity. During the teen years, our brains change in the way we: remember, think, reason, focus attention, make decisions and relate to others.
We feel privileged to be partnering with expert professionals from Tara – The H Moross psychiatric hospital to bring you an afternoon of information rich presentations on topics pertinent to understanding the adolescent such as mood disorders, eating disorders, DBT (dialectical behavioural therapy) self-harm and suicide prevention. This workshop is free to all and is aimed at educators, health professionals and parents.
Tea and coffee will be served and there will be a cash tuckshop available for light refreshments.
We look forward to hosting you
