Dr Tracey Farber is a social worker and psychologist who has written two theses “The therapists experience of stress in trauma counselling” and “Integrity vs Despair: The experience of traumatised child holocaust survivors”, the latter of which has been published in the South African Journal for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy.
Dr Farber practices as a clinical psychologist in Private practice, where she has specialised for 22 years in play therapy, psychotherapy, and trauma counselling. Dr Farber also trains and supervises social work students, psychologists, and psychiatrists. She facilitates resilience workshops based on her PHD research on mental health workers, teachers, and parents.
Dr Farber will be discussing the narrative of resilience in child survivors of the Holocaust and how this has informed her school-based program for building resilience.
