Artivism is a practice that uses artistic disciplines to raise awareness of social injustices and inspire transformation. In education, it offers powerful tools to enrich classroom learning and foster critical thinking.
Join Dr Adam Levin as he explores how artivism can support dynamic and practical teaching strategies, empower learners, and open up creative and ethical ways of engaging with AI.
Dr Adam Levin is a researcher and educator in the School of Literature, Language and Media at the University of the Witwatersrand. His work engages both school learners and university students through workshops and courses that explore how artivism can empower and transform educational spaces. He is also the co-director of NonScenes, a non-profit organisation that uses artivism to challenge traditional teaching approaches and create career pathways for young people in the arts.
