Speaker: Professor André Venter
Many children who have a diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) are treated on medication.
This talk will focus on the aspects of ADHD which in itself impose barriers on learning, and the co-morbid learning disorders often found in these children. Often there are unrealistic expectations to the extent medication may address some of these barriers.
The role of medication for ADHD and its possible positive effects on learning barriers will be discussed. On the other hand, unrealistic expectations of this intervention will also be highlighted.
