Exploring Praxis and Dyspraxia
This talk highlights the importance of praxis, what the components it is made up of as well as what happens when a child has dyspraxia. We cover the history of praxis, the sensory systems that are necessary for adequate practice development as well other common terms used when discussing dyspraxia. We discuss who makes up the team helping these children as well as how a child’s occupational performance areas (OPAs) would be affected by dyspraxia. Finally we provide some strategies that are useful for helping these children in their OPAs.
