It’s a common misconception that learning to read is a simple and natural process. In reality, it requires explicit, sequential, and systematic instruction that focuses on the essential components of reading. Structured Literacy, when paired with multisensory learning, provides a solid foundation for all learners, ensuring they develop reading and spelling skills effectively. This workshop is specifically designed for Foundation Phase teachers and therapists, offering best practices and strategies for implementing Structured Literacy in the classroom. Through in-depth exploration of research-based approaches, hands-on learning activities, and practical applications, participants will enhance their literacy instruction skills and will be able to start implementing their new strategies in the classroom immediately.
