The Feuerstein’s Instrumental Enrichment Programme (FIE) is a process-oriented cognitive intervention programme that involves a series of tasks that directly focus on the development of thinking skills. The FIE tools give structure to a teaching method that helps individuals approach learning differently, using researched cognitive exercises to develop skills such as systematic thinking, reasoning, problem solving, empathy and emotional intelligence. The Feuerstein Method is a unique educational programme developed by world-renowned educational and developmental psychologist Reuven Feuerstein. It is a process-based approach, which focuses on developing the skill of ‘learning how to learn’. FIE helps individuals develop advanced thinking skills by making them more aware of how their own minds work. The exercises are grounded in cognitive science and specifically designed to boost both self-awareness and critical reasoning. By engaging in FIE, learners strengthen their ability to perceive and comprehend data, as well as process it with greater depth to assist in a more meaningful output.
